Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee daily programmes of work for the garden team and volunteers
  • Undertake a wide range of horticultural tasks (turf care, propagation, border maintenance, cut flowers, glasshouse management, planting)
  • Promote sustainable gardening and biodiversity practices
  • Support visitor engagement through open days, tours, and educational activities
  • Deputise for the Head Gardener and contribute to garden development projects

About You:

  • Experienced in a wide range of practical and ornamental horticulture, ideally within historic or charitable garden settings
  • Confident supervising staff and volunteers, with strong organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in sustainable and ecological horticultural practices
  • Able to work flexibly, including some weekends for open days/events

 

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
