We are looking for a self-motivated, skilled & enthusiastic gardener with a love & affinity for rhododendrons & azaleas. The garden consists of formal areas around a large country house & an informal garden with lakes, streams & cascades.

The successful applicant should possess a full range of skills & be able to put them into practice. We would also expect the Head Gardener to be able to advise, contribute & carry through any redesigning, replanting & propogation that the owners envisage. This is an exciting opportunity to combine the ongoing maintenance programme with new projects as they arise.

You should be able to work well alone as well as managing a small team of 2 staff, demonstrating a balance of delegation, instruction, decision-making & encouragement.

The position is full-time based on 39 hours per week from 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday & 8am to 4pm on Friday. Paid holiday entitlement of 25 working days per annum, plus bank holidays. Accommodation to rent could be available on the estate in Minterne Magna. Good schools, & the towns of Sherborne, Yeovil & Dorchester are all within easy reach.
