JOB ROLE
To work within an overall team of 6, reporting to the Landscape Manager. Lead one other full time staff. To deputise for the Landscape Manager and direct casual staff when required. This is a hands on role and is varied in it’s scope. A working knowledge of garden plants and their care is required to competently carry out seasonal garden maintenance tasks. To keep various estate gardens and landscape tidy and well cared for.
Travel to various sites around the Estate is by All-Terrain Mules with trailer.
Regular tasks to include the use of Ride-on and pedestrian lawnmowers, strimmers, hedgecutters and blowers. The confidence to use a small tractor and trailer. Use of knapsack sprayers to apply plant protection products as necessary.
The use of chainsaws when required to clear fallen trees and fell straightforward smaller trees. Processing of timber for firewood.
We carry out new Woodland and hedgerow planting as well as creating new gardens.
The willingness to use various landscape machinery such as cultivators, power rakes and seeders, both pedestrian and tractor mounted is required. The ability to use mini diggers to plant larger trees is desirable.
We have an excellent new purpose-built Gardeners yard, with welfare facilities, new machinery and tools. This is centrally located within the Estate.
This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic and active individual to progress their career within a supportive team environment. Formal training will be provided for the right individual to full fill the requirements of this role.
The Estate has a diverse range of interests and values individuals who are happy to assist with other duties such as furniture moving and setting up for events.

Essential – Full Driving Licence and trailer confident
Chainsaw certificates CS30-31
Spraying certificates Pa1-Pa6
Tractor driving & trailer
Desirable – Mini digger experience
First aid qualified
MEWP qualified including chainsaw use
Wood chipper, stump grinder, brush cutter certificates
