Senior Turf and Grounds Person

Two important appointments to support our incredible Head Gardener and wider estate team at an important time to redesign the gardens and estate in conjunction with internationally regarded landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith.
The new owners are energetically undertaking a very significant programme of improvement and restoration throughout the historic estate. Work to improve the garden has begun but the main phases will be undertaken over the coming 2 - 3 years which will be an exciting time of change for all involved.
Whilst the estate is private, it is envisaged that the garden will open occasionally for charity and in support of the local community. It is planned that the wider estate will be managed regeneratively and grazed with historic breeds; equally the garden will also be managed in ways which respect and support good environmental practice. Where practical the garden will use nature-based solutions.
The Assistant Head Gardener will work closely with the Head Gardener and other team members in what will be a very hands-on role. They will cover for the Head Gardener when required and will have a senior position in what will otherwise be a relatively flat and collaborative structure. Circa £33,500k - £41k + accommodation provided.
Senior Grounds Person will work closely with the Head Gardener and other team members in what will be a very hands on and role empowered with significant autonomy. They will have responsibility for turf, grassland, wild meadows, grounds maintenance and machinery, hedges and topiary. A senior position in what will otherwise be a relatively flat and collaborative structure. Circa £29,500k - £38k + accommodation assistance available.
They should be able to plan and manage their time efficiently; have experience of working in a responsible position on a private estate; and possess the skills, qualifications (level 3 or equivalent is desirable), and experience to take on such a responsibility.
