Summary: We are seeking a full-time Gardener to maintain and enhance the beauty and health of a large private garden. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of gardening duties, including planting, weeding, pruning, operating machinery, and ensuring the safety of the workspace. 

Responsibilities:

Plant, weed, and prune flower beds, borders, and trees. Operate and maintain horticultural machinery, including lawnmowers and hedge trimmers. Identify and control pests and diseases. Contribute to the design and layout of gardens. Adhere to health and safety regulations. Clear leaf litter and make compost. Assist with other grounds maintenance tasks as needed.  Run the on-site greenhouse. Be prepared to work alongside contractors, brought in to do additional work.

Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of plant species and their needs. Experience with pruning and planting techniques. Ability to operate and maintain horticultural machinery. Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations. Good communication skills. Ability to work independently. Hold a recognised horticultural qualification. Ideally hold a PA1 and PA6 qualification, or be prepared to undertake the relevant training. Be prepared to undertake any additional training as and when required. Good time management and the ability to prioritise jobs. Flexible and adaptable to all garden requirements. Driving licence desirable. Previous experience is essential.
