Yn goruchwylio lluosogi, trin a chadw’n effeithiol y planhigion, y tirweddau a'r ecosystemau sydd yn GFGC, gan ddarparu cynlluniau plannu, gweithredu rhaglenni cynnal a chadw wedi eu cynllunio gyda thîm o arddwriaethwyr, pobl dan hyfforddiant a gwirfoddolwyr.

Prif Ddyletswyddau a Chyfrifoldebau

Goruchwylio a chydlynu lluosogi, cynhyrchu a chadw planhigion o fewn mannau penodol yn y feithrinfa, yn ôl y cyfarwyddyd, gan sicrhau bod planhigion a chyfleusterau’n cael eu rheoli a’u datblygu’n unol â gwerthoedd, polisïau a gweithdrefnau GFGC.

Gweithredu, monitro a gwerthuso rhaglenni cynnal a chadw wedi eu cynllunio, rhestru tyfu, cynlluniau cynhyrchu a chamau rheoli plâu/afiechydon er mwyn cyfoethogi, cynnal a chadw’r casgliad byw.

Helpu cydweithwyr mewn rhannau eraill o'r Ardd, lle mae angen sgiliau garddwriaeth i gefnogi rhaglenni addysgol, digwyddiadau, prosiectau ymchwil, arddangosiadau ac arddangosfeydd sy’n gwella mwynhad ymwelwyr.

Rhannu, monitro a gweithredu gwaith tîm y Feithrinfa a gwirfoddolwyr penodol, gan sicrhau rheoli, perfformiad, datblygiad a phresenoldeb effeithiol a sicrhau bod yr holl weithgareddau’n digwydd gyda hyfforddiant a chyfarwyddyd digonol yn unol â pholisi’r cwmni a rheoliadau Iechyd a Diogelwch. 

Cydlynu pwrcasu a dosbarthu cyflenwadau a chyfarpar y feithrinfa arddwriaeth, gan sicrhau cydymffurfio â safonau cynaliadwyedd a gweithdrefnau ariannol GFGC. 

Paratoi a chyflwyno sgyrsiau ac arddangosiadau garddwriaethol i ymwelwyr, cydweithwyr, swyddogion lleol a chyrff allanol yn ôl y cyfarwyddyd

Ymgysylltu’n rhagweithiol a rhyngweithio ag ymwelwyr a chydweithwyr gan ateb cwestiynau, darparu arweiniad a chyfleu gwybodaeth i hyrwyddo a gwella enw da GFGC fel atyniad botanegol o fri.

Hyrwyddo gwaith garddwriaeth yn rhagweithiol o fewn rhannau eraill o’r sefydliad, gan ddatblygu a chynnal y diwylliant o gydweithio a chydweithredu ar draws pob adran a swyddogaeth.

Are you a plant enthusiast with leadership flair and a love for propagation?  The National Botanic Garden of Wales is seeking a Nursery Horticulture Senior to lead our nursery team in growing and caring for a living collection that’s as diverse as our Welsh weather. From sowing rare seeds to coordinating volunteers (and occasionally rescuing the hosepipe from a knot-based crisis), you’ll supervise all aspects of cultivation, planning, pest control, and propagation. You’ll need a Level 3 horticulture qualification, solid nursery experience, and the ability to grow plants and people in equal measure.

Description of Role

Supervises the effective propagation, cultivation and conservation of plants, landscapes and eco-systems within NBGW, delivering planting schemes, implementing planned maintenance programmes with a team of horticulturists, trainees and volunteers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises and co-ordinates the cultivation, production and conservation of plants and crops within allocated areas of the nursery, as instructed, ensuring that plants and facilities are managed and developed in accordance with NBGW’s values, policies and procedures.

Implements, monitors and evaluates planned maintenance programmes, growing schedules, production plans and pest/disease control measures aimed to enrich maintain and preserve the living collection.

Assists colleagues in other areas of NBGW, where horticultural skills are required to support educational programs, events, research projects, displays and exhibitions which enhance visitor enjoyment.

Allocates, monitors and evaluates the work of the Nursery team and assigned volunteers, ensuring the effective management, performance, development and attendance, whilst ensuring all activities are carried out with adequate training and instruction in compliance with company policy and Health & Safety regulations.

Co-ordinates the procurement and distribution of horticultural nursery supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with NBGW’s sustainability standards and financial procedures.

Preparation and delivery of horticultural talks and demonstrations to visitors, colleagues, local officials and external bodies as directed.

Actively engages and interacts with visitors and colleagues answering questions, providing guidance and imparting knowledge to promote and enhance NBGW’s reputation as a leading botanical attraction.

Actively promotes the work of horticulture within other areas of the organisation, thereby developing and maintaining the culture of collaboration and co-operation across all departments and functions.

Undertake Duty Manager responsibilities on a rotational basis, ensuring the smooth operation of the NBGW site during weekends, holidays, or special events.
