HEAD GARDENER FOR HISTORIC GARDENS
Our gardens are located in an exceptional setting, offering vast untapped potential. Spanning 26 acres, the gardens at Penmaenuchaf are registered with CADW for their historic significance as a well-preserved 19th-century terraced garden. In addition to the sunken ornamental garden and its lavender beds, the site features a hidden network of timeworn paths through ancient woodlands, manicured lawns, streams, ponds, wildflower meadows, and mature trees. The terrace and lawns overlook the iconic Mawddach estuary, with the dramatic mountain vistas of Snowdonia as a stunning backdrop.
Today, Penmaenuchaf is an exemplary small luxury hotel, acquired by Seren in 2022, a unique collection of high-quality hospitality venues in Wales. The hotel is highly regarded as one of the finest privately-owned country house hotels in North Wales. Located at the foot of Cadair Idris in the heart of the national park, this 14-bedroom hotel holds a coveted ‘Michelin Key’ and is also home to a renowned restaurant, celebrated for its outstanding wine list.
We are now seeking a talented and experienced Head Gardener to design and execute a vision for the gardens, inspiring our guests to visit the hotel and experience your work just as they enjoy our fabulous rooms, food, and service.
