The employer - A private family home with gardens of some 3-4 acres running out to informal parkland situated in the middle of a small 120 acre estate
The job - As the sole gardener for this small estate, your prime focus will be the upkeep of approx. 3-4 acres of landscaped gardens and lawns, responsible for caring for the health of plants, weeding, pruning, spraying, and hedge-cutting and mowing. The owners are looking to bring on a comparatively new garden to fit the setting. For this you will use a variety of equipment including strimmers, chainsaws, electric and petrol hedge trimmers, hand mower, ride-on, and John Deere large ride-on and trailer.

A 2 bedroom cottage is available with the job.
What you'll need - An experienced trained horticulturalist with extensive knowledge of the care of perennials and shrubs
An excellent timekeeper who is reliable and trustworthy
A strong knowledge of pruning
Happy to work alone for long periods
A proactive attitude towards the overall upkeep of the garden and grounds with a cheerful disposition.
A good communicator with organisational skills
Knowledge and experience of pesticides and chemical applications
Experience using chainsaws and other horticultural machinery
Chainsaw Maintenance/Crosscutting and PA1/PA6 strongly desired
Love of the outdoors and working in all weathers
Happy to turn your hand to other tasks required by the family, such as light maintenance work, taking out the bins
A Full UK driving licence and your own transport.
Where you'll be based - The estate is based near the town of Alresford.
What you'll receive - £27,000 - £34,000 per annum dependent on whether the successful candidate lives on site or not as well as experience
Full time employment working 40 hours per week, ideally between 8am-4:30pm
