Background
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic gardener to maintain the gardens around a historic house with an established team of gardeners. The gardens are at a private family home within 20 minutes of Faversham. They comprise 20 acres of:
• Parkland
• Lawns
• Walled garden
• Vegetable garden
• Glasshouses
• Ornamental watercourses
• Formal areas
• Spinney
• Hedging
• Borders

The Role
The applicant will need to be motivated, have a knowledge of country house gardens and have good team working skills. They must have experience in working within a team environment, preferably in a country house setting, and have a working knowledge of the health and safety standards required when working with garden machinery. The role will cover a range of work including:
• Previous experience in gardening
• Past experience working within a small team environment (and ideally within country houses)
• Willingness to turn a hand to anything
• Motivation and passion for the job
• Applicants will need to be physically fit as this is a gardening position
• Good understanding of gardening machinery
• Full, clean driving licence

Employment Terms
Role – Assistant Gardener.
Basis – Hours will be part-time with the potential for additional hours during March – October, at the employer’s discretion. This is a permanent position.
Hours 

8am - 4:30pm between Oct-Mar (winter months)

8am - 5pm between Mar-Oct (summer months)

Start Date – Immediately.
Salary – Real Living Wage/Commensurate with experience
