About the role
We are seeking a gardener to work with the Exmouth Town and Seafront team. You will be primarily responsible for growing and cultivating all types of plants such as flowers, trees, shrubs and lawns in a variety of green spaces including public parks, gardens, and sports grounds as assigned by the service. In addition, general duties will include assisting without direct supervision in the various maintenance and cleansing operations undertaken by Streetscene on property and buildings and assisting other area teams as required.
About you
You will need to be able to work diligently with minimal supervision, including some weekends and on public holidays. You must have practical experience and or relevant qualifications in a Gardening role and you’ll need to be able to work seasonal hours (*41.5 hours in summer, 32.5 hours in winter – average of 37 hours per week pro-rata for part-time roles). A valid driver’s licence is essential, and a category C1 C1E or C driving licence (or B licence issued prior to Jan 1997) would be a distinct advantage.
About us
Our recent Local Government Association Peer Challenge highlighted that ‘EDDC is a great place to work, with engaged staff and members’ and that’s certainly true! You will be part of a Gold Investors in People (IiP) organisation which works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment in which people want to live, work, visit and enjoy now, and for future generations. And with our wide range of health and wellbeing benefits, our highly flexible and collaborative hybrid Worksmart working arrangements as well as our commitment to continuous learning and development, you can be confident of joining a dedicated community of colleagues who are Happy, Healthy and Here.
